Featuring artists like Moby, Squarepusher and Big Gigantic, the Movement Electronic Music Festival needed a top-notch audio solution to support 100,000 fans. The system needed to provide massive sound to all five stages while still sounding clean and pure.
Paxahau, which began producing the festival in 2006, has been working with Michigan-based contractor Thunder Audio since 2007. The team designed a major audio solution, featuring a hefty dose of the JBL VTX and VERTEC® Series, including S28 and G28 subwoofers. Crown I-Tech 12000 amplifiers provided the power and everything was controlled by JBL HiQnet Performance Manager™ software.
Sam Fotias, operations director for Paxahau, was impressed that the HARMAN system delivered massive bass, was clean in the mid-range and highs, all while pumping out high SPL.
“We work on the sound design all year for each stage, ensuring that it is a complete, visceral experience for our festival attendees. Everyone always leaves in complete astonishment at how amazing our stages sound. Many artists who play all around the world tell us that our sound systems are the best they have ever played on.” – Sam Fotias, Operations Director, Paxahau
