Thanks for talking with us Jason. Can you talk about the Web Kiosk persona and how it works?
\n<\/strong>Varia Touch Panels allow our customers to define the entire panel experience with our pre-loaded personas. Customers can setup their panels to operate as whatever persona they need them to be and they will stay locked down in that persona unless they choose to easily switch to a different persona, should their needs change.<\/span>

Our Web Kiosk persona is designed to access web applications such as wayfinding apps, hoteling apps, or custom control apps, directly on the panel, without a complex configuration process. This essentially turns the panel into an HTML5 web viewer. But what\u2019s important is that only the URL web application that\u2019s entered during setup is accessible. This prevents users from accidently closing or coming out of that web page or leaving the intended experience. Even when the panel is rebooted, it will boot back to the saved view.<\/p>\n

What kind of experience can users expect when using the Web Kiosk persona?<\/strong>
\nGetting setup is incredibly easy. After selecting the Web Kiosk persona, the panel simply asks you to enter the URL of the web page you want it to serve up – this could be a web URL or an IP address. The panel will then serve up whatever service or features have been pre-enabled at the source, whether that might be concierge support, wayfinding, or anything else. So now you have an AMX professional-grade web kiosk, available in a variety of sizes and mounting configurations, that\u2019s always locked down and dedicated to support your needs.<\/p>\n

Can you highlight compatibility with HTML5 and standard web programming options?
\n<\/strong>Varia with the Web Kiosk Persona is built on a very modern web browser platform and supports the latest web technologies including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. Web developers creating UIs for use with Varia can use all the same tools they would use to develop for any PC or mobile device. Leveraging these standard web technologies widens the pool of developers to choose from, instead of the traditional approach of training with a certain manufacturer with specific software and syntax.<\/p>\n

Which industry sectors have shown the most interest in Varia and Web Kiosk?
\n<\/strong>Universities and colleges are incredibly interested in Varia Web Kiosk, often for wayfinding and other needs. They also want to keep their campus updated with the latest technology and ensure they are able to select best-in-class solutions without fear of how it will work with their existing and future technology.<\/p>\n

Hospitality and large venue markets have also expressed strong interest in this persona because they have lots of use cases for utilizing different software packages, such as background music (BGM) systems, building monitoring services, and integrating with HVAC and concierge packages that include robust HTML interfaces.<\/p>\n
