The studio that I work in uses a lot of JBL products. It&#8217;s just such industry standard stuff&#8230; &#8221; said Dan Konopka.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAbout two years ago I was approached by Shachar from SoundBetter, when the platform was pretty new,\u201d says Konopka. \u201cHe asked if I&#8217;d be interested in being a provider on the platform as a session drummer, and I was very flattered. \u2018Wow, could I play the drums for other bands? Could I do this for other artists? <em>Any<\/em> other artists?\u2019 And it ended up being a perfect fit for me because I was able to play the drums for other people and I was also able to do production work and mixing work.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7479\" style=\"width: 346px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a class=\"lightbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.akg.com\/Microphones\/Dynamic%20Microphones\/D112MkII.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7479\" class=\" wp-image-7479\" src=\"https:\/\/pro.harman.com\/insights\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Soundbetter-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"336\" height=\"370\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-7479\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">AKG D112 MKII<br \/>Professional Dynamic Bass Drum Microphone<\/p><\/div>\n<p>When recording drums for SoundBetter projects, Konopka makes heavy use of AKG microphones, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akg.com\/Microphones\/Tube%20Microphones\/C12VR.html\">C12VR tube condenser mic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akg.com\/Microphones\/Dynamic%20Microphones\/D112MkII.html\">D112 MKII bass drum mic<\/a>. To craft his signature sound, Konopka often uses these microphones in novel, unorthodox ways, such as using the D112 as an overhead mic on his kit. Additionally, the studio Konopka works in employs <a href=\"https:\/\/jblpro.com\/en-US\/product_families\/7-series-products\">JBL monitors<\/a>, which he has high praise for.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring my sessions I use a lot of AKG microphones; almost all of them are AKG microphones,\u201d says Konopka. \u201cThe studio that I work in uses a lot of JBL products. It&#8217;s just such industry standard stuff that it\u2019s kind of an afterthought.
