Today, I’m adding to our HARMAN Innovator Series with a profile on Manoj Sakhare, Software Architect and Technical Lead for HARMAN Professional Solutions. Our Innovator series highlights some of the great technical minds behind HARMAN products, and that’s certainly what I found in Manoj, who is part of our AKG audio group and works out of our Pune, India office.
After getting his Bachelor’s degree in Technology from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in 2005, Manoj went on to work in R&D for a testing and measuring equipment manufacturer. In 2010, Manoj joined HARMAN Professional Solutions as a Sr. Software Engineer, and in 2013, he moved into his current role as Technical Lead. During his time at HARMAN, Manoj also worked on his Master’s in Technology from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, which he earned in 2013.
Manoj has worked on a variety of software solutions for AKG, including development of the AKG module for HARMAN’s HiQnet System Architect and HiQNet Audio Architect. He also developed the “Enhanced Mode” of configuring AKG WMS wireless microphone systems. The patented algorithm Manoj designed for the WMS system identifies intermodulation-free frequencies in an installation, handling complex calculations regarding environment interference that are not easy to do manually. The set of daisy-chained processing stages accounts for distance between hardware, blocked regions and frequencies based upon location and environmental data from the live installation. The solution works with the live environment and provides a precise set of intermodulation-free frequencies that protects against dropouts and other interference, thus ensuring a smooth and hassle-free wireless microphone implementation.
Outside work, Manoj is a self-described “family man” who loves to spend time with his family and close friends, especially his wife, with whom he recently celebrated his one-year anniversary. Manoj has eclectic tastes; he enjoys reading novels, philosophy and political works, watching cricket and football (soccer, for us in the US) as well as listening to rock and Bollywood music. Manoj says that in his spare time, he keeps learning new things, believing that “there is a lot to learn and we should never stop doing it.” Interestingly, Manoj’s ultimate dream would be to “cast away like Tom Hanks,” a suggestion that sounds quite appealing to me as well.
I really enjoyed learning more about Manoj Sakhare, even if the true technical details of his work on the AKG WMS “Enhanced Mode” went well beyond my understanding. The expertise of innovators like Manoj is extremely impressive, and I always love hearing about the intricate thought that goes into the technology they create.
