To elevate its luxurious ambiance and ensure an exceptional guest experience, Dusit Princess Kathmandu recognized the need for an advanced audio-visual (AV) infrastructure. The goal was to create an immersive auditory environment where every musical note, spoken word, and ambient sound resonated with unparalleled clarity. From the serene lounges to the dynamic event spaces, the hotel sought a scalable, high-performance solution that would transform each moment into a perfectly crafted sensory experience.
In order to curate an unmatched sound ecosystem, the hotel sought out a collaboration between Zerone Technologies and Harman for the different sections of the retreat. Every component was carefully selected to reflect the hotel’s unwavering commitment to quality, with the team deploying a blend of JBL loudspeakers and amplifiers. These were complemented by Crown amplifiers, BSS controllers, and AKG microphones, each selected for its ability to enhance the property’s aura.
Inside the hotel, JBL Control 12C/T and Control 14C/T speakers bestowed a clear auditory experience with consistent tonality, elevating the atmosphere across all public spaces. As guests moved towards the dining area, high-sensitivity JBL 8124 speakers would slowly envelope them in a cocoon of high acoustic fidelity. For open spaces, you had the sophisticated JBL C65P/T pendant speakers, equipped with Radiation Boundary Integration (RBI) technology, offering immersive coverage with impeccable precision.
The Rooftop Club, one of Kathmandu’s most sought-after social destinations, required a system that could deliver premium audio without disrupting the open-air ambiance. JBL Control 85M Garden speakers, designed for 360-degree all-weather sound projection, blended seamlessly into the surroundings, maintaining a vibrant yet natural atmosphere. And to further ensure durability against the elements, JBL Control 25-1 speakers, reinforced with WeatherMax grills and MTC PC2 covers, were installed for long-lasting acoustic performance without compromising on aesthetics.
But as visitors shift away from the rooftop to the banquet hall, we’re greeted with a space designed for grand celebrations and high-profile events. An area reimagined into an auditory success through the use of JBL CBT 70J-1 and CBT 50LA-1 line array speakers. With focused projection and crystal-clear sounds, it would captivate guest in every corner of the hall. This was further enriched with JBL AC15 loudspeakers that would utilise the hall’s acoustic depth to guarantee each event unfolded with distinction.
To drive this multi-layered soundscape, the system integrated JBL CSA 240Z and CSA 2120Z amplifiers, along with Crown CDi4|300, DCi8|600, and CDi 4|600 series amplifiers, ensuring consistent, distortion-free audio across all zones. Yet, the true essence of such an intricate soundscape lay in its effortless control. The BSS EC 4BV wall controllers and BSS BLU806, BSS BLU101, and BSS BLU50 processors provided seamless command over the entire AV ecosystem, allowing for fluid, intuitive multi-zone management.
Beyond sound, connectivity and effortless integration were crucial to enhancing the guest experience. AMX VPX-1401 switchers streamlined presentations and event coordination, while AMX DUX-TUX-70 transmitters and DUX-RX-70 receivers ensured undisturbed HDMI signal transmission for high-profile meetings. The AMX MCP 108 Massio ControlPad made multi-zone AV management simple and intuitive, while the AMX CTP-1301 Presentation Kit provided smooth 4K switching and distribution, further augmenting the hotel’s conference and event capabilities.
Adding yet another layer of sophistication, the AMX ACV-2100 Acendo Vibe Conferencing Bar, featuring Sound by JBL, enriched corporate meetings with a crisp audio setup, enabling effortless, precise sound quality across all zones. The setup was further improved by the use of AKG WMS470 presenter and vocal microphone systems, along with the AKG D5 wired/handheld microphone, delivering exceptional vocal clarity.
At Dusit Princess Kathmandu, luxury rose beyond expectation to become a clever composition of culture, design, and cutting-edge technology. The aim of this experience was to resonate far beyond the stay, a melody of Nepalese heritage and Thai elegance echoing through every carefully curated moment.
