It’s 205 elegantly designed rooms, some offering views of the airport and runway, reflect an amalgamation of the city’s ambition as the business capital of the country, immersing guests in the rhythm of Mumbai’s ceaseless energy.
Keen to perfect every aspect of the guest experience, the hotel recognised the significance of sound and ambience in crafting memorable stays. From the reception and lounges to banquet areas and fitness zones, Fairfield saw an opportunity to create a versatile and immersive audio experience – one that would elevate both function and atmosphere across its diverse spaces.
To conceptualise Fairfield as a haven of peaceful soundscapes in the shadow of jet engines, KORE AVS and Harman were tasked with building an integrated audio system designed to improve guest interactions at each touchpoint. Blending new-age technology with refined audio performance, the goal was to ensure consistent sound quality and intuitive control across areas that serve both individual guests and professional gatherings.
The journey begins in the lobby and lounge bar, where JBL Control 47LP low-profile speakers and JBL Control 14C/T ceiling speakers offer clean, full-range sound that sets the tone for a professional yet welcoming environment. Compact and visually unobtrusive, these speakers blend into the architectural design while delivering consistent background music, in turn providing a subtle layer of warmth as guests arrive or transition through public spaces.
This refined aural experience extends into the meeting rooms, where JBL Control 26CT ceiling speakers were paired with Crown CDi2|1200BL amplifiers for articulate speech and playback audio. This setup was anchored by the BSS BLU-101 DSP, which offers features such as Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Automatic Gain Control (AGC), and Noise Cancellation (NC), ensuring every voice and presentation is heard clearly, whether in person or over a call. To make on-the-fly adjustments simple for staff or guests, the BSS EC4BV wall controller was installed for perceptive control over multiple zones.
And to complement these meeting spaces, AMX NMX-ENC-N1115-WP wallplate encoders and NMX-DEC-N1222A decoders were deployed for high-quality video transmission with minimal latency – essential for business presentations and hybrid meetings. The NMX ATC N4321 audio transceiver allowed for synchronised, two-way audio streaming over IP, maintaining fidelity across formats. These tools ensured that technical infrastructure supported, not hindered, the pace of modern meetings.
But when we move over to larger events, especially on the first-floor banquet hall and pre-function areas, Harman’s audio solutions were moulded to meet the diverse requirements of professional and social crowds. These were fitted with the same JBL Control 26CT ceiling speakers, driven by Crown Amplifiers and BSS processors, providing a dependable auditory impression with graceful control in every corner.
This level of consistency was maintained across all shared areas, be it lift lobbies, restrooms, or corridors, with the deployment of JBL speakers, such as the CSS-8006BM, Crown Amplifiers, BSS processors, and BSS controllers.
Even in the stylish restaurant, JBL Control 26CT ceiling speakers and Crown CDi2|1200BL amplifier, supplied a clear, balanced sound for the ideal culinary journey. The BSS BLU-101 DSP processor assured that audio settings adapted to different dining atmospheres, from gentle breakfast melodies to lively evening soundscapes.
And if you wanted to burn off those indulgent calories and found yourself in the gym, you were greeted by the rich sonic character and wide coverage of the JBL Control 28-1 speakers. With the bass erupting from JBL AC118S subwoofers, guests would leave the fitness centre as energised as when entering. Not to forget that the system was managed by a Crown CDi4|600 amplifier and a BSS BLU-50 processor, optimised to deliver performance and reliability even during high-demand usage.
Completing the experience at the poolside and terrace, rugged yet sophisticated JBL Control 85M landscape speakers were installed for pristine and full-range sound with 360-degree coverage in an area rife with airplane noise. Specifically designed for outdoor applications, these speakers were weather-resistant and provided an enjoyable auditory sensation, whether it was soft background music or lively tunes for social gatherings.
Through this carefully designed and impeccably integrated system, Fairfield by Marriott, Mumbai, achieved a consistent audio environment that supports both guest comfort and operational efficiency. From quiet zones and high-traffic areas to meeting rooms and event spaces, every solution was tailored to its specific use case, ensuring performance without complexity. With this foundation in place, the hotel is now equipped to deliver on its brand promise – elevating every stay with attention to detail not just in design, but in sound.
