The Opportunity
The Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Palace of Culture and Labour has served as one of Ha Noi’s premier venues for artistic performances, conferences and national events since opening in 1985. With a 1,100-seat theater, revolving stage and year-round production schedule, the venue required a modern lighting system capable of supporting increasingly complex live productions while improving operational reliability. The existing infrastructure no longer met the demands for higher brightness, accurate color reproduction, smooth movement and long-term durability needed for large-scale performances and high-level events.
The Solution
Stage Professional Company Limited designed and delivered a lighting upgrade centered on 10 Martin Professional MAC Viper XIP fixtures, marking the first permanent large-scale theater installation of the MAC Viper XIP in Vietnam. Selected following detailed optical surveys and performance evaluations, the fixtures were chosen for their output, precision and durability in a demanding permanent-installation environment.
The Martin MAC Viper XIP fixtures provide enhanced brightness, uniform stage coverage and flexible movement capabilities suited for theatrical productions, conferences and live events. Their IP54-rated construction was a key factor in the selection process, offering resistance to dust and environmental wear while reducing long-term maintenance requirements for a venue operating continuously throughout the year.
Stage Professional completed fixture positioning, calibration and programming to integrate the new system with the theater’s existing infrastructure. The team worked closely with venue staff to optimize brightness levels, color consistency and movement profiles, ensuring the system could adapt to a broad range of production requirements while remaining intuitive for operators to manage daily.
The Result
The upgraded lighting system has expanded the venue’s live production capabilities, delivering brighter output, improved color accuracy and more consistent stage coverage for performances and national events. The Martin MAC Viper XIP fixtures provide the flexibility needed to support a wide range of artistic productions while improving reliability and reducing maintenance demands for the venue’s technical staff.
By delivering the first permanent large-scale Martin MAC Viper XIP theater installation in Vietnam, Stage Professional Company Limited introduced a new benchmark for IP-rated moving-head technology in the country’s performing arts sector.
