Le Mas de Le Mée-sur-Seine, France

The Opportunity

Located in the Île-de-France region, Le Mas de Le Mée-sur-Seine is an esteemed cultural venue known for hosting a diverse range of live performances. As demand for premium audio quality increased, Le Mas sought to upgrade its sound system to meet the needs of today’s artists, technicians and audiences. The goal was to achieve pristine, evenly distributed sound throughout the venue while embracing innovative technology and preserving a high level of flexibility for a variety of events.

The Solution

To achieve this goal, Le Mas partnered with Freevox to install France’s first JBL VTX A6 fixed sound system, a major milestone in professional audio innovation. JBL VTX A6’s dual 6.5-inch drivers and refined waveguide architecture made it the ideal choice for Le Mas, where audience proximity and venue dimensions demand both high intelligibility and minimal acoustic spill.
The system design includes 16 VTX A6 line array elements, complemented by four VTX B15 bass enclosures, two VTX B28 subwoofers, alongside with a VTX F15 central cluster for first rows’ cover, ideal for both live music and DJ-driven performances. All elements are powered by Crown I-TechHD 4×3500 and Crown I-Tech 5000HD amplifiers, offering high headroom, real-time diagnostics, and networked control for precise performance management.

To support performers on stage, the team integrated four JBL VTX M22 stage monitors for a compact yet powerful solution that offers clear vocal reproduction, achieving worldclass SPL without any distortion or feedback. These monitors are driven by an additional Crown I-Tech HD 4×3500 amplifier, ensuring the same fidelity and control behind the scenes as out front.
Freevox utilized JBL’s Venue Synthesis software to model the system in 3D and optimize every component’s placement. This allowed engineers to anticipate reflections, tailor dispersion, and tune the system to deliver consistent SPL and tonal balance throughout the venue. Harman’s Performance manager intuitive interface also made it easier to collaborate with the Le Mas technical team, showing them in real-time how the system would perform in their unique space.

This comprehensive solution not only upgraded the venue’s sound quality but also ensured the infrastructure could handle a wide variety of performance types, from high-energy concerts to more intimate stage events, all with minimal visual intrusion thanks to the compact footprint of the VTX A6 enclosures.

The Result

With the deployment of the JBL VTX A6 system, Le Mas has entered a new era of live sound excellence in France. The compact, high-output system now delivers uniform, high-impact audio across the venue, providing consistent clarity and dynamic range that elevates every performance.

Artists can perform with confidence and precision from improved stage monitoring through the JBL VTX M22 wedges while audience members enjoy a cohesive and immersive listening experience, with no dead zones or uneven frequency response. Powered by Crown’s amplifiers, the system adapts seamlessly to the diverse needs of Le Mas’ programming, regardless of genre, volume, or scale.

The success of the installation reflects Freevox’s hands-on approach and commitment to providing tailor-made solutions, as well as Harman’s continued leadership in professional sound innovation. Together, they have helped Le Mas set a new benchmark for cultural venues in France as they continue to redefine the standard for live audio experiences in a modern, high-performance setting.
