We are just back from LDI (Live Design International) 2018 lighting design show in Las Vegas, where we enjoyed meeting with a wide range of lighting designers from many backgrounds and project areas to discuss our new products as well as demo several of our more popular lighting solutions. We would like to thank everyone that took time out of their busy schedule to attend the show and that stopped by to say hello and discuss their ideas.
The product demo room drew steady traffic throughout the three days with attendees wanting to learn more about our P3 visual control and creative video solutions, see demos of our Encore precision stage lighting and to check out our RUSH cost effective yet dynamic lighting and effects solutions. Two of the products lighting designers asked most about were our two new Martin products unveiled at the show that were extremely well received – the new Martin MAC Allure Profile Fixture and the new Martin ELP LED Ellipsoid Fixtures.
NEW PRODUCTS ANNOUNCED AT LDI 2018
INTRODUCING THE NEW MARTIN MAC ALLURE PROFILE FIXTURE:
There is nothing quite like the new Martin MAC Allure Profile. This fresh and sustainable workhorse fixture includes the first fully-featured moving head to combine a proprietary, solid state RGBW additive color mixing engine, a 7-segment pixelated beam and onboard P3 and DMX controllability that lets users swiftly alternate or mix between control protocols. The overall feature set further includes dimmer, strobe, color mixing, gobos, iris, prism, zoom, focus, pan and tilt.
MAC Allure products were designed to support the unique performance lighting needs of rental and install clients, including concert/touring, TV shows, corporate, houses of worship, concert venues, nightclubs, and cruise ships.
“Until now, there hasn’t been a truly efficient way to integrate solid state (LED) color mixing into profile fixtures,” said Markus Kluesener, HARMAN Professional Solutions Stage Lighting Product Manager. “We decided to address this need head on and asked our engineers to come up with a game changer. They came through with an all-new, proprietary, color-mixing light engine that exceeded our expectations for efficiency.”
“As we’ve been talking to end users about the features they look for in this segment of fixtures, they can’t get over how much usability we were able to build into this fixture that we were also careful not to over engineer,” said Peter Skytte, HARMAN Professional Solutions Tour Lighting Manager. “The end result is a straight forward feature set that is not overloading the programmer with unnecessary parameters to deal with.”

MEET THE MARTIN ELP LED ELLIPSOID FIXTURES:
Featuring superior optics and color rendering, class-leading output and unparalleled ease-of-use, the new Martin ELP fixtures are available in two versions: ELP WW (Warm White), which offers industry-leading color rendering and brightness, while ELP CL (Color) delivers rich, saturated colors and class-leading output.
ELP fixtures feature industry-first advances in lighting functionality, including the highly efficient gear-based Fine Focus adjustment knob, and the Fast Focus feature which allows the fixture to be focused without data flow. ELP also offers 16-bit dimming with four selectable curves and 26 color presets that match industry-standard color filters. ELP fixtures can be configured with Martin lens tubes in 19, 26, 36 and 50-degree beam angles as well as third-party lens tubes. ELP fixtures can also be configured with a wide range of accessories, including gel frames and gobos, offering exceptional flexibility in lighting design and inventory management.
“For years, lighting professionals have relied on the versatility of ellipsoidal fixtures for concerts, plays and live events, and now Martin is raising the bar with new ELP LED fixtures,” said Nathan Fleming, Senior Manager Entertainment Space Solutions HARMAN Professional Solutions. “The Martin engineering team in Denmark not only designed class-leading optics, they delivered groundbreaking features like Fine Focus and Fast Focus. Combining superior output, optics and color rendering with unparalleled ease-of-use and convenience, Martin ELP is the leading LED ellipsoidal fixture in its class.”

In talking with a variety of lighting designers at the show, here were just a couple of the many positive reactions we received about the new products:
“I had no idea that a product like the ELPs that could be this useful would be coming out. There is a huge market for this product and I can definitely see uses for both the color and the warm white fixtures in several of my designs. I also really like the fine focus feature.”
“I appreciate that Martin is actually doing something UNIQUE in lighting and not just hyping products that aren’t offering anything relatively new or different. I like that the Allure is both a workhouse moving head and an eyecandy pixel-mapping fixture. And that it’s got onboard P3. That’s really pretty cool.”
We sincerely appreciate all of the interest and support we received at LDI 2018. It’s a very exciting time to be a part of HARMAN Professional Solutions and to deliver industry first lighting design technology from Martin by HARMAN. We thank you for your continued partnership and look forward to understanding how we can continue serving your lighting design needs.
