When I first started with AMX back in 2005, if you asked me what “NAMM” or “ISE” were, thriving professional AV tradeshows drawing a combined nearly 200,000 people over four days would probably have been the last thing on my list. Each winter, these exhibition juggernauts get the new year kicked off in a big way to over 80,000 attendees at ISE and well over 110,000 visitors at NAMM  – each with a unique audience, mission, and schedule of events.

The “In Conversation with..” Series hosted a variety of discussions with legendary music performers and producers at NAMM.

With 5,000 miles, a 10 hour plane ride, and a nine hour time difference separating NAMM in California and ISE in The Netherlands, the topography and weather couldn’t be more different. However our mission at both shows was the same – to welcome and meet with as many new and returning visitors as possible to better understand how we can best serve their unique needs, application, and client base. Regardless if you were able to make it to NAMM or ISE this year, this recap provides all the highlights:

AMX + Zoom Collaboration Solutions and Alliance
The AMX and Zoom alliance was a big hit. We loved hearing from so many attendees that they are already using Zoom or eager to put this collaboration to work in their meeting spaces. By combining AMX Acendo Core and the Zoom Meetings app or Modero G5 Control Panels and the Zoom Rooms controller app, users have two new solutions they can immediately put to work to offer added Zoom meeting and web conferencing capabilities, no matter what type of space they are managing.

JBL Takes Top Awards Honors at 34th NAMM TEC Awards & 33rd Music and Sound Awards
JBL walked away from the NAMM TEC Awards this year with top honors. The JBL 3 Series MkII punched way above its class and beat out other studio monitors that cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars more. And the VTX A12W was clearly recognized for having the leading Line Array Technology on the market. This was an extra special win, because JBL Vertec was also inducted into the NAMM TECnology hall of fame earlier in the evening. Additionally, the JBL 3 Series MkII was chosen the best speaker of 2018 by US music retailers at the 33rd Annual Music and Sound Awards, also announced at NAMM. Congratulations to all of the other winners and nominees! Details: JBL 3 Series MkII and VTX A12W.

Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Therefore let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch!
